Dewalt DCS575 and DCS576 54V Circular Saws - Top 5 Things you need to Know

DCS575 and DCS576 Dewalt 54V Circular Saws - Everything you need to know

The humble circular saw is one of the most versatile, portable cutting tools you could ever have in your kit. Whether you use it for cross cuts, rip cuts, plunge cuts or bevel cuts, it will give you the torque and the reliability to get the job done. You can read our guide to cordless circular saws here.

For heavy duty cutting, relying on a power cord was the only way to go. But not any more.

This is Dewalt’s DCS575 and DCS576, the world’s first 54V cordless circular saws, and here are the Top 5 Things You Need to Know About them.

#1 – IT PERFORMS AS IF IT’S CORDED

Yes, it runs off a battery. But because the battery in question is DeWalt’s new 54 XR FlexVolt, it has the capabilities normally associated with corded saws. For example, it will easily cut 90m of 18mm OSB board on a single charge.

And Dewalt claims that these batteries will give you in excess of a full day’s runtime per charge. Watch it in action on Toolstop TV here:

#2 – IT’S BRUSHLESS

The efficiency of the motor determines how well a cordless tool performs. So, the DCS575 has a brushless motor, helping to keep the weight down while running cooler and more efficiently drawing power from the 54V battery pack.

#3 – THE BLADE

Most 18V cordless circular saws take a 165mm blade which will give you a depth of cut of around 53mm to 55mm. The DCS575 is fitted with a 190mm blade which will cut up to 67mm. Just like a corded circular saw.

#4 – IT BEVELS

Rip cuts, crosscuts, yes it obviously makes those, but it also bevels over to 57º, ideal for cutting roofing timbers.

#5 – IT’S AVAILABLE BODY-ONLY

We’d recommend getting the bundle with two 54V XR FlexVolt batteries and a fast charger, but the DCD575 is also available body-only if you want to save cash.

It’s worth pointing out that a version of the saw designed to work with a plunge saw rail system is due to be released, the DCD576.

So that’s the Top 5 Things you need to know about DeWalt’s DCD575 54V XR FlexVolt circular saw. It qualifies for Toolstop Finance and is available to order now.
