The 1930's saw the introduction of the first petrol-driven two-man Stihl chainsaw.
In 1972 came the chain braking system. The chain brake brings the chain to a halt in a fraction of a second of the machine kicking back.
In 2000, Stihl introduced their innovative multi-tool concept - a splitting shaft that allows a whole range of tools to be powered by one engine. It is known today as the KombiSystem.
2005 saw their advanced spring-loaded system that is proven to significantly reduce vibrations from the engine to the user's hand.
